HBO Announces 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Album 'For the Throne' With Major Artists
The hype is real surrounding the final season of Game of Thrones, and even our favorite artists want to be included.
After reports claimed a new track from The Weeknd, SZA, and Travis Scott would be released to be featured in the upcoming season, HBO just confirmed a full out album is coming. And it's extremely star-studded.
For the Throne, music inspired by Game of Thrones, will be released on April 26, featuring the likes of A$AP Rocky, Mumford and Sons, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, along with the already-announced trio.
The announcement has received a variety of responses, with some thrilled at the album, and others not so much. "Amazing. Just don't put this on the show," one wrote on Twitter, while another added, "Only Ramin Djawadi during the actual show please." We can only assume these tracks won't be featured in any of the episodes--however the claim from Pitchfork that The Weeknd song will be included in the show has us unsure.
All we can say is that this season truly has everyone ready to come together and watch the final chapter. Game of Thrones finally returns this Sunday.
