Everything We Know About Henry Cavill's Reported Return to the Role of Superman
Henry Cavill made headlines last year for his phenomenal performance as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and soon he will reportedly be reprising his role as another familiar fictional character. According to ComicBook.com, Cavill will be returning to the DC Universe to portray Clark Kent once again!
The actor has previously played the Kryptonian in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. However, don't expect a sequel to Man of Steel anytime soon. Although Justice League director Zack Snyder initially intended for Cavill to return for a second Justice League movie, those plans were scrapped when the director was replaced during the film's post-production. Apparently Cavill's Superman will appear in films for a supporting role or smaller cameos as opposed to a fully-fleshed out movie.
There have also been rumors that Cavill will appear as Superman in the Shazam! sequel, Black Adam, which is set to star Dwayne Johnson as the titular character. Shazam! producer Hiram Garcia told ComicBook.com last year that he always loved the idea of Black Adam and Superman colliding, and that Johnson and Cavill would make a "really powerful" pairing. More recently, Shazam! actor John Glover took to Twitter to propose an unorthodox way for Cavill to make an appearance in the series, writing, "Can we get Henry’s head added to the #Shazam post credits scene with the great @ZacharyLevi."
There is no official news about what Cavill's next appearance as Superman will be, but we will keep you updated!
