How 'Avengers: Endgame' Affects 'Spider-Man: Far From Home,' According to Joe Russo [SPOILERS]

This story includes spoilers for 'Avengers: Endgame.'
Even though Avengers: Endgame has proved to be one the most successful Marvel movies of all time, there are aspects that are still causing fans to scratch their heads. Time travel gets confusing, especially when you use it as much as the Marvel Cinematic Universe does. People are now asking how future films will be affected by Endgame.
The writers and directors have answered tons of questions since Endgame's release, including regarding how it will affect the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home, and now co-director Joe Russo is addressing them.
The biggest question fans have is how the time warping in Endgame could change the Spider-Man sequel. When Tony Stark put the Infinity Gauntlet on and snapped his fingers, it brought back half the universe in the present day, five years after they left. This would mean that the unsnapped heroes would be five years older than everyone returning. So how come when Peter Parker returns to his school, Ned Leeds is the same age?
Russo spoke to Entertainment Weekly to try and explain this.
“So… Ned disappeared as well,” Russo said. “That’s the two of them seeing each other for the first time after having disappeared.” But this doesn't explain everyone in their high school.
This would then mean that Ned, MJ, Flash Thompson, and Peter Parker were all snapped, because they're all the same age in the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“There could be kids who are now much older than them and no longer in high school,” Russo continued. “But Ned and he both disappeared and are returning in that moment.”
We're excited to see this next chapter for Peter Parker when Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 5, 2019.
