'I'm a Celeb' Fans Furious as Show 'Ruins' Christmas for Their Kids
Reality TV and children don't always mix, but that hasn't stopped parents from allowing their kids to watch it and then proceed to get angry over what they saw.
For instance, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! isn't exactly what we'd call a family show, however many adults are now seriously pissed off after their kids heard a particular conversation involving contestants Ian Wright and James Haskell about the holiday season.
According to The Sun, the campmates begun discussing Christmas traditions, specifically their parents pretending Santa Claus had come when they were just kids. James shared that his parents would act as if reindeer had come by, and Ian said his dad would even dress up as Santa.
Apparently, there were kids at home watching who still believe in Santa, which really angered their parents. One took to Twitter to complain, "Just ruined f**king Christmas for my kids... nice one." Another said, "Fancy airing a section on #ImACeleb where camp mates [sic] talk about Father Christmas in THAT way, shame on you, awkward Qs being asked now, have a bit more social awareness!!!!"
Others pointed out, however, how silly this was to get upset over, reminding the angry parents that it isn't a children's series.
While protecting children's innocence is clearly important, maybe not watching a show like I'm A Celeb--where they sometimes do far worse than talk about Santa--would be the smartest decision with kids around.
