Jada Pinkett Smith Says Jordyn Woods Was 'Happy' With Her Red Table Talk Interview
This past February, the world found out that Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods, had allegedly been involved in a kiss with Tristan Thompson, the then-boyfriend of Khloé Kardashian and the father of her one-year-old daughter, True.
After the incident, Woods was bombarded with criticism from the world--to say the very least--along with the Kardashian-Jenner family. She then decided to tell her side of the story on Red Table Talk, the Facebook Watch show hosted by the Smiths, longtime friends of Woods’ family.
Jada Pinkett Smith recently commented on the interview during a Red Table Talk screening in London, People reports.
According to Daily Mail, Pinkett Smith admitted she had her reservations about doing the interview in the first place. She explained, “It was a learning experience for me because Jordyn is like a daughter to me…But then I also had to have an objective point of view. I had to be able to see it from every angle. That was tough.”
She added that Woods felt good with the interview, the same one which prompted a vicious tweet from Khloé, accusing her of lying. “She was happy, so I was happy,” Pinkett Smith said. “You feel me? As long as she felt as though we did right by her, I was happy. That’s it.”
The host also said that Woods only “felt safe” doing the interview on Red Table Talk, which ultimately convinced her. “I just wanted her to have a platform to tell her story. That’s it,” she shared. “She’s a young beautiful woman inside and out and me having been a young girl, we sometimes get in situations that we don’t necessarily know how to handle … You just [try to] help young girls navigate through life, through difficult situations we’ve all come across.”
Based on Woods’ Cosmopolitan UK cover story, it seems she's figured out how to navigate, and even thrive, despite the difficult situation--and despite not being part of the Kardashian-Jenner crew any longer.
