Kaitlyn Bristowe has reason to celebrate her Monday night at home with boyfriend Jason Tartick. As the two were watching her season of The Bachelorette play out for the new weekly special The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons -- Ever!, Chris Harrison told her the great news that she was being offered a spot on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. The whole exchange was broadcasted during the ABC event, and of course, the Canada native was ecstatic. But as it turns out, Kaitlyn almost had double the excitement, as Jason was actually asked if he would also like to propose during the segment.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jason, who competed on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette, explained why he ultimately didn't pop the question that night. "They actually came to me asking me if I'd like to take this opportunity to propose," he recalled, referring to ABC, adding, "I shot it down after about a day of thinking." Because it was the same night the network was recapping Kaitlyn's Bachelorette season, Jason didn't want to mix the two. "We don't need these stories to align in the same showing," he stated.

And apparently, Kaitlyn is on board with his decision. Jason was quick to continue with, "But I told Kaitlyn after... she's like, 'Thank God [you didn't agree].'" The newest DWTS member even confirmed this, telling ET, "I wouldn't want that to be done either. Sorry. No way." We can't blame her!

Kaitlyn previously spoke out on where she and Jason stood regarding taking the next big step, explaining that she didn't want to get engaged during the current world climate. "I told him I don’t want to [have a] quarantine engagement," she told US Weekly in May. "[I want] a little more romance than just at the house." However, she did note that "wouldn’t have been surprised" if Jason popped the question before COVID-19, making us think that she's absolutely ready to commit to her man.

Whenever Kaitlyn and Jason do get engaged, we're sure it won't be on TV, but we'll get to hear all the details about it later on!
