'The Office's Jenna Fischer Recalls the One Prank John Krasinski Played on Her as He Joins 'Office Ladies' Podcast
Pam Beesly and Jim Halpert were notorious jokesters on The Office, but it seems that their real-life counterparts were not nearly as creative in the pranking department.
As reported by Mashable, John Krasinski joined his former co-stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey for their podcast Office Ladies, where the actor admitted, "I'm terrible at pranks." Although Fischer and Krasinski would make each other laugh with inside jokes throughout the years, they didn't really play many pranks on each other. After reminiscing about their time on the workplace comedy, Fischer recalled the one and only practical joke Krasinski successfully played on her during the series' run.
"John, you played one prank on me in the whole nine years of The Office, like one fully-formed good thought-out prank," Fischer said. "It was at Schrute Farms and you and I had this scene where we had to drive up to the farmhouse several times, and we're doing it and I am getting increasingly more hot." Fischer said that she kept getting warmer and began to sweat. "I’m like, 'Oh my god, it's so hot,' and we had to turn off the AC for sound and you're like, 'Yeah, I don't know, I'm OK. But you’re hot, huh?'" The actress explained that this went on for about 15 minutes before Krasinski bursted out laughing.
Turns out, her co-star had turned her seat warmer, all the way up to the highest setting. "Oh my god, that was late in the run wasn't it?" Krasinski wondered. "That was late in the run," Fischer confirmed, adding, "But I was so excited because whenever we would go on talk shows they would always ask us if we played pranks on each other and I'd say no, not really, I mean besides just like little jokes on Post-it Notes or something."
However, it seems that the prank wasn't even Krasinski's idea. "I realized that I am such a bad prankster that I stole that prank from Clooney," he revealed. "When we were doing Leatherheads he did that to me, so that's how unoriginal I am. I was like, 'I'm gonna take George Clooney's bit and do it to Jenna,' and I thought that would make me cool," the actor explained. "So basically you got Clooney’d is what you got."
Jim would have been disappointed at the recycled prank, but it's still funny to think about Krasinski stealing the idea from George Clooney, of all people!
