As the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands, more and more stars are flocking to roles in the franchise, leading many to wonder just who will appear next. While stars like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek are slated for The Eternals and Keanu Reeves is reportedly in talks for an appearance elsewhere, another star has weighed in on his prospects: John Travolta, who says he would join the MCU in a comic rooted in reality.

Per ComicBook.com, Travolta shared at the FAN EXPO in Boston that he is drawn to “reality-based” roles. “So whatever Marvel scenario invites more of a reality — like The Punisher was very reality-based, and I’m more attracted to that than fantasticism,” he said. “So that’s all I could say about that. That’s why I like the Bond movies, because even though they’re bigger than life, they’re still reality-based.”

Travolta, who appeared as antagonist Howard Saint in the 2004 film The Punisher, said that he is ultimately drawn to a role by the script. “Is the character [one] that I can believe I can do differently enough to be entertaining to the audience? And maybe that you couldn’t imagine another actor [in the role], if I did it well enough,” he added.

There has been no news of any talks between Marvel and the Pulp Fiction star, so it is unclear whether Travolta will ever appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper.

In any case, we’ll keep an eye on Travolta and Marvel--if he really will make an appearance in the MCU, we want to know about it.
