Josh Brolin Has a Message for Marvel Fans Spoiling 'Avengers: Endgame'
By Kwadar Ray
Some will argue that anyone who considers themselves a true Marvel fan has already seen Avengers: Endgame. But despite the insane amount of money the film has garnered in just a few days, we know that there are still plenty of fans waiting to see the movie and help it break more box office records.
With that in mind, it's paramount for those who've seen the film to not spoil it for those who haven't yet. Marvel is notorious for the lengths they'll go to prevent leaks before one of their films is released, and they apply that same approach to spoiler-friendly fans.
Endgame's directors, the Russo brothers, wrote a letter asking to not spoil the film.
#DontSpoilTheEndgame has been trending on Twitter ever since, and plenty of the film's stars are partaking in the call to fans who've seen the movie already.
Now, a new--and more assertive--hashtag is being used: #ThanosDemandsYourSilence.
Josh Brolin, who reprised his role as Thanos in Endgame, has also called on fans to not spoil the film. In an Instagram Story posted on Friday, Brolin thanked fans for their emotional responses to the movie, but urged them to keep plot details to themselves.
"I just wanna say the people who are commenting spoilers, I'm gonna turn the comments off if it continues," Brolin stated. "I either have to block you or I have to erase them, because it's just not okay to do that to anybody. This is many, many, many, many years in the making. This is the base of a lot of people's childhoods. Why do you want to ruin it? It makes no sense."
"Please find it in your heart to realize that this is a story that was very difficult to put together," he pleaded. "A lot of years, a lot of hard work, a lot of people trying to make it as good as it could be for you."
We completely agree with Brolin, and even though he can't just snap spoiling fans away, he can be a voice for millions of fans sharing the same sentiment.
