Justin Bieber just excitedly announced that he's related to both Avril Lavigne and Ryan Gosling, based on an Ancestry.com DNA test. The singer posted a picture to Instagram, showing that he and Gosling are 11th cousins once removed and he and Lavigne are 12th cousins. How completely random!

Bieber cited the discovery as "the best day" of his life and said it seemed "super legit." Apparently the news has been circulating the internet for years, but this is just the first time the star discovered it.

According to Yahoo!, the connection goes back 400 years to early Quebec settlers with the two connections being Mathurin Roy and Marguerite Biré. One fan hilariously pointed out, "They are all French Canadians !!! Wouldn’t it be awkward if you had dated one of them."

Lavigne posted the cutest comment on Bieber's Instagram, writing, "I’ll host Christmas dinner this year" complete with a bunch of Christmas emojis. Scooter Braun, Justin's manager, also added: "I always saw a strong resemblance."

Even Ancestry.com chimed in on Instagram, saying, "Totally legit! What a glorious Canadian combo. This totally made our Saturday."

There must be some serious singing and performing genes in that line! What a great day for Canada!
