Kanye West Claims He and Kim Kardashian Almost Had an Abortion While Speaking at Campaign Rally
Earlier this month, Kanye West announced he would be running for president, and he kicked off his presidential campaign with a rally in South Carolina on Sunday, July 19. West spoke at the Exquis Event Center in North Charleston and shocked those present by revealing that he and Kim Kardashian considered abortion after she became pregnant with their first child, North.
As reported by Us Weekly, Kanye explained that he got a frantic phone call from Kim one day while they were dating. “I just thought to myself, ‘Please don’t tell me I gave Kim Kardashian AIDS. That will be the worst thing in the world,'” he told the audience. “And she said, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And I said, ‘Yes!’ Then I said, ‘Oh!’ I’m gonna tell you what was in my mind. She was crying. She said, ‘I just came from the doctor.’ 'Cause I was having, like, you know, the rapper’s lifestyle, so she said she was pregnant and for one month and two months and three months we talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand.”
West has since changed his tune on abortion. He spoke out against the practice, as well as the morning after pill, saying, “No more Plan B. There is Plan A.” The rapper was incredibly emotional when he told the story, telling attendees that Kim, "brought North into the world even when I didn’t want to. She stood up and she protected that child.”
Kanye also explained that his father had wanted his mother, Donda, to have an abortion when she was pregnant with him but his mom “saved” his life. “I almost killed my daughter,” West admitted.
As for his political aspirations, Kanye said that winning the presidency isn't necessarily his goal. “I don’t give a f**k if I win the presidency or not. I care about homeless people in front of the Gucci store," he told supporters in North Charleston.
Hopefully, Kanye told Kim he would be making this announcement, as it is her health and her body he's discussing. If this event set the tone for West's campaign, I can only imagine what he'll reveal next.
