John Travolta Pens Touching Tribute to Late Kelly Preston After She Passes Away to Cancer
John Travolta is honoring his late wife. After Kelly Preston sadly passed away on July 12 following a battle with breast cancer, the Grease star took to Instagram with a loving message about her life.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta began. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered."
“I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while,” he concluded. “But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”
As Us Weekly reports, Kelly is survived by her husband and their two children, Benjamin and Ella. Her passing is the second tragedy to strike the Travolta family in recent years. The couple's eldest child, Jett, passed away in 2009.
Kelly was best known for her acting roles in Jerry Maguire, Space Camp, Twins, and For the Love of the Game. Most recently, she appeared in Gotti alongside her husband. The news of her passing came as a shock to fans, as Kelly had kept her health struggles extremely private. We're keeping the Preston-Travolta family in our thoughts throughout this difficult time.
