Khloé Kardashian Explains Not Giving Acceptance Speech for People's Choice Win After Facing Backlash
The Kardashian-Jenner family had a lot to celebrate over the weekend. Not only did Keeping Up With the Kardashians take home the People’s Choice Award for Best Reality Show, but Khloé Kardashian also won Best Reality Star.
However, fans were a little perturbed with the Revenge Body host after she didn’t give a public thank you on stage after being announced the winner. Entertainment Tonight reports that when the awards were announced together, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé and their mom, Kris Jenner, all went on stage to accept the prize. However, only Kim and Kris gave speeches, and the other two remained silent and smiley in the back.
After the ceremony, the Good American co-founder took to her Instagram Story to explain what happened. In a video with Kourtney, she explained, "Just so everybody knows, it's so awkward, like, when you go on stage…I know, Kim is a G and she kind of takes over and she will talk. Kourtney and I are in the back like..."
Kourtney finished, saying, "Do we say thank you, do we not? What do we say?"
Khloé continued, "We never really know what to say and we're so grateful, we're so thankful. I won an award as well, but we just get nervous. I know people don't think we do."
The 35-year-old reality star also took to social media to reveal that she didn’t know she had won until after she got off stage. She replied to one fan, “It’s so beyond loud in there. I had no idea I won an individual award until we walked off stage. I feel so badly right now. I am so f**king grateful and appreciative!”
It seems like an honest mistake. We couldn't be happier for Khloé and her fam on their big wins!
