Khloé Kardashian Gets Serious Hate on Instagram After Showing Off New Cornrows Hairstyle
By Rachel Reed
You never know what Khloé Kardashian will do with her hairdo next. She even has a room in her mansion devoted entirely to hair extensions. However, her latest locks have been met with some backlash. And it's not because of the giant pink ponytail.
According to PopCulture.com, her cornrows are a no-go. Apparently, the masses didn't take too kindly to Kardashian, an Armenian, sporting a hairstyle associated with Native American and black culture. Of course, it's not the first time a member of the Kar-Jenner fam has been accused of cultural appropriation. But this time, fans are accusing the reality star of something much more specifically offensive to the world of social media: "blackfishing."
In the comments on her Instagram pics, people weren't shy about letting KoKo know where they stood with her hairstyle. One person wrote, "Does she know she’s not black or.. who wants to tell her," while another said, "You're naive to think the Kardashians don’t appropriate black aesthetics."
There were some fans who jumped to Khloé's defense. One pro-rows commenter said, "I just honestly wish we could appreciate the beauty in styles from every culture and allow each other to create a piece of it. If she's wearing it's not to take over a culture, it's because she thinks it's beautiful!"
But supportive statements were far and few between, as the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star's posts continued to be flooded with hate. Luckily, we know that Khloé changes her fabulous hair at the drop of a hat. So it's likely hair hate today, a new 'do tomorrow.
