Why Kim Kardashian is Being Absolutely Dragged for Showing Off Photos of North's Friesian Horse
Kim Kardashian clearly has yet to understand how to read the room.
With almost half of the American population unemployed amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the last thing people want to talk about is extravagant vacations or lavish gifts. But of course, for the Kardashian-Jenner family, things aren't too bad. In fact, based on their social media activity, it doesn't look like much has changed for them at all during quarantine. And when Kim took to Twitter this week to show off her daughter North's new Friesian horse, also declaring that they own 14 of them, followers were expectedly unhappy.
One person responded to Kim with, "Honestly the fact that you chose a moment in time when our unemployment rate is the highest it’s ever been since the Great Depression to brag about having too many fancy horses and then couldn’t even spell the breed correctly is a perfect illustration of America in 2020." Another added, "14 freesian [sic] horses for your daughter and millions of families don’t have houses. Funny world," and a third replied, "I'll take Tone Deaf Celebrities During a Worldwide Pandemic for 500, Alex."
To further the outrage, one Twitter user even went as far as to research how much money it costs to buy a Friesian horse, compared to the American household average amount of money spent on food per year. "The money you paid to buy one of these horses could have fed one or two families of four for a whole year," they told Kim.
Of course, there were fans who stood up for Kim, with one pointing out that, "It’s her money." Others were quick to label those calling the reality star out as "jealous" or "haters."
We all know by now that the Kardashian-Jenner fam have insane luxuries most of us can't even imagine, but showing off like this in the middle of a pandemic does seem a bit tone deaf.
