Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She Stopped Letting North Wear Makeup

Though her mom, Kim Kardashian West, owns an extremely successful cosmetics company, North West is going to have to wait a little bit longer before her dad, Kanye West, will let her rock makeup.

Kim and model Minnie Harlow stopped to talk to E! News this week at the KKW x WINNIE collab launch held at L'Avenue at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Before the interview, the two shared a quick FaceTime with six-year-old North, during which North showed Winnie her best modeling poses.

Kim explained, “[North] thinks Winnie is like the most beautiful person she's ever seen, and she's figured out how to spell her name," adding, "So, she'll FaceTime Winnie when I'm not around. She'll be like, 'Can I see your phone mom and play a game?' And she'll take it, and I'll see her on the phone, walking outside...I'm like, 'Who are you talking to?'”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was then asked if North likes to wear makeup since her mom, and Aunt Kylie (Jenner) are always around her with it. Kim explained that she loves it, but her daddy does not.

Kim said that her Grammy-winning husband had to make some new ground rules. “I think he had it, he changed all the rules. I'd let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I'd let her wear a red lip, or I'd let her do one pop of something,” she shared. “I'd let her, if she's wearing a black dress, a black lip. So I kind of got in trouble for that…now it’s no more makeup.”

Luckily, Kim says that North can always help her “weigh in” on fashion.
