Kim Kardashian Speaks Out on 'Uncomfortable' Cheating Scandal Episode of 'KUWTK'
By Ryan Carroll
While the Tristan Thompson/Jordyn Woods cheating scandal has consumed the Kardashian family for months, it only hit the screen on Keeping Up With the Kardashians this past Sunday. Naturally, the episode wasn’t the easiest for the members of the Kardashian family to relive--and this week, Kim Kardashian spoke out on her own reaction, saying that it was “uncomfortable” but ultimately relieving.
“As uncomfortable as reliving this all over again is, we have been so open with everything in our lives from giving birth, marriages, divorces, the good times and the bad,” Kim wrote on Twitter while live-tweeting the episode, according to People. “Unfortunately this is the truth of what we went through and I wish it could have aired sooner.”
The scandal first emerged in February, when rumors began to circulate that Thompson had kissed Woods at a party at his house, followed by confirmation from Woods in early March.
In the episode, Kim is the first to learn about what transpired between Woods and Thompson from family friend Larsa Pippen. Subsequently, she passed the information along to Thompson's (now ex-)partner Khloé Kardashian, who engaged in a lengthy back-and-forth with Woods and then Thompson--and subsequently learned the truth about his infidelity.
“I just think everyone is so twisted,” Khloé said, according to People, as she attempted to grapple with the truth of the infidelity. “Jordyn didn’t think about me, she didn’t think about Kylie … she didn’t think about my daughter. She didn’t think about Tristan. And she didn’t think about herself.”
Following the revelation of the scandal, Woods has become estranged from the Kardashian family, with Khloé saying she "never wants to see Jordyn again"--though she has been spotted along with fellow Kardashian exile Ray J. Recently, Jordyn expressed hope that the episode would depict her truthfully and that “the real me will shine.”
As for us, we’re inclined to agree with Kim--while watching the episode is undoubtedly painful, we’re sure that being open about it will help everything at the end of the day.
