Following the Emmy Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles, Game of Thrones lead actor Kit Harington, according to Entertainment Tonight, revealed that he shockingly has not watched the divisive final season of the series.

The 32-year-old actor was asked how he dealt with the negative reactions associated with Season 8, to which he replied, “I still haven’t seen the show. So that’s how I dealt with that controversy. I haven’t seen the final season.” He continued:

“But I know what it took to shoot it. And it was hard and everyone put their love and effort into it. And controversy — I think for us, we knew what we were doing was right, story-wise. And we knew that it was right for the characters because we lived with them for 10 years. So controversy for us didn’t really affect us.”

While they didn't win all the awards they had a chance at, Thrones still had a good run this year, as they nabbed 12 Emmys out of 32 nominations. Of these, 10 were technical award wins last weekend at the Creative Arts Emmys, along with the biggest award of last night for Outstanding Drama Series.

We'll see how the world of Westeros does at future award shows with their planned prequel series within the next few years.
