Lamar Odom is Fully Hoping to Get Back Together With Khloé Kardashian
By Ryan Carroll
Since the release of his new memoir, Darkness to Light, Lamar Odom has been spending extensive time in the media spotlight discussing his struggle with substance abuse--as well as his relationship with Khloé Kardashian. This week, Odom discussed his marriage with Kardashian and the role she continues to play in his life, saying that he’s still hoping they might be able to get back together.
According to People, Odom shared in an interview with Jenny McCarthy that Kardashian is the love of his life, and, when asked about the possibility of getting back together with her, he said, “I hope. I wake up hoping that, but you probably would have to ask her.”
Odom and Kardashian’s seven-year-long marriage began in 2009, just a month after they met at a party. While his family was dubious of their relationship, Odom said this was never a problem for the relationship. “I love my family with all my heart, but that’s how I knew she was the one because no one could tell me no I wasn’t getting married to Khloé,” he explained. “It would have been real easy for me to say, ‘Alright, don’t ever call me again.’ … That’s how strong it was.”
Their relationship, however, was impacted by Odom’s substance abuse and philandering, with altercations over cheating and serious threats of violence rocking their marriage. “I wish I could have been more of a man,” Odom admitted in an interview with People, speaking about the relationship. “It still bothers me to this day. But regret is something we have to learn to live with.”
Ultimately, however, Odom said that he and Kardashian are on friendly terms, and that they had a brief conversation over text after his book’s release. He said that he hopes he could one day reconnect with Kardashian and her family, and quipped that, “The next house that I buy, hopefully she can decorate it.”
As for us, we’re glad to see Odom and Kardashian keep up an amicable relationship--turbulent relationships aren’t good for anybody, and now that they’re more stable, maybe they can begin to heal.
