'Love on the Spectrum' Release Date, Cast, Plot: Everything to Know About the New Show on Netflix
By Lillian Marx
Love on the Spectrum takes a different tact than many of Netflix’s other recent forays into reality dating content. It’s definitely more Dating Around than Too Hot to Handle, but really the show carves out a place of its own by putting neurodiversity front and center. Series creator Cian O’Clery has made neurodiversity a focus of his work before; this time, his focus is on how people on the autism spectrum navigate love and relationships.
Here’s everything you need to know about the series.
Love on the Spectrum Release Date
The four-part docuseries will premiere July 22 on Netflix. (If you were in Australia last November, you might have caught it already; it originally aired there on ABC.)
Love on the Spectrum Cast
The show follows a group of young people on the autism spectrum. The first episode features Ruth, 22, and Thomas, 25, who have been together for four years.
Love on the Spectrum Plot
Love on the Spectrum follows its cast as they navigate the world of love and dating on the spectrum. “I think it’s really bizarre people think people with autism can’t love,” cast member Thomas told The New Daily. “Love doesn’t have to look like it does on The Bachelor. A date can be very silly, and a relationship can be done differently.”
