Lucy Hale Cast in Leading Role for 'Riverdale' Spinoff 'Katy Keene'

With the success of the CW show Riverdale, comes a spinoff series called Katy Keene. And they've just found their leading lady. Lucy Hale, known for her role in Pretty Little Liars, is set to star in the new musical show.
The spinoff will follow four classic Archie Comics characters who are chasing their dreams in New York City. Katy Keene is an aspiring fashion designer, juggling life in a big city, dating, and work.
Hale confirmed the reports that she was cast in a post on Instagram, saying, "Well I'm slightly freaking out ! Thank you @archiecomics / @writerras / @thecw / @warnerbrostv / @thatthingofwhen for trusting me to be your KATY KEENE. my heart is bursting."
While not much else has been released in terms of the plot, given Hale's track record, there's no doubt she will be great for the Archie Comics show. She joins already casted actors Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy in Riverdale), Sterling Knight, James Maslow, Julia Chan, and others.
