Mackenzie McKee Admits She Feels 'Embarrassed' and 'Weak' Over Comments About Husband Josh Online
It must be extremely tough to have the entire world watching you go through a breakup, and that's exactly what Teen Mom OG star Mackenzie McKee has had to experience in recent months. She and her husband Josh have been on again, off again for some time now, and after multiple cheating scandals, viewers have big opinions on their relationship. For Mack, this is especially difficult as she tries to navigate comments on the internet about Josh and people telling her what she should do.
The reality star, who tragically lost her mom, Angie Douthit, to cancer in Dec. 2019, has opened up to TooFab on the difficulties of working through a relationship in the spotlight. With Angie's passing and her problems with Josh, Mack explained, "[MTV] decided that they were gonna start filming, and it was like my life fell apart right then and right there. I mean, they followed the darkest year of my life and I pray I never have a year that bad again, ever."

And while fans have shown their love and support for Mack in regards to her mom, they aren't exactly as nice when it comes to Josh. "People couldn't even accept good from Josh. They already decided that they hate him and that was all that was shown. All of the gaps were missed," the mom-of-three explained. Fans got to see Mackenzie finding out that Josh cheated on TV, and soon after the two reconciled. "I don't like hearing about us on the internet because I am embarrassed," she admitted. "I feel like I look weak."
However, Josh isn't the only person who had been unfaithful over the course of their relationship. "The whole, 'once a cheater, always a cheater' that I'm seeing every day on the internet is bull crap. Because if that's true about him, then it's true about me and I will not accept that," Mackenzie continued. "I went and had an affair, and he found out and had to forgive me."
Besides the online criticism, Mackenzie still has to worry about getting things back to normal with Josh. "I am having a hard time loving Josh the way I used to. And I'm kind of just figuring out myself," she added. She concluded on where they stand now with:
"I know people say 'leave if it's toxic for the kids. It's more unhealthy than to be apart.' It's not a toxic environment, it's just I'm having a hard time loving him. But, you know, it's been good. We're home, we're quarantined. He's been working, he's the moneymaker right now. He's here for us. He holds us together. I'm trying to figure myself out. It's just kind of smoother right now."
Here's to hoping Mack and Josh are able to work things out if that's what they both think is best for their family. And in the meantime, let's all take it easy on the Teen Mom star on social media—she doesn't deserve the hate!
