Most of us know the grisly story of the Manson Family Murders in 1969, which included the tragic death of the pregnant Sharon Tate. The late rising star and wife of Roman Polanski has been honored in various ways over the years, and no doubt will be memorialized in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But portraying such a figure of course comes a lot of pressure and responsibility, which actress Margot Robbie is fully aware of.

While speaking with People, Robbie, who will be playing Sharon Tate in the new film, explained that she prepared for the role by meeting with Tate's family and friends. "They all said how kind, loving, and good-hearted she was," the Academy Award-nominated actress shared. "I was fortunate enough to step on to set with Debra Tate’s blessing, Sharon’s sister."

Robbie went on to explain how much it meant to her to show the real Sharon Tate to audiences. "It was immensely important for me to honor Sharon’s generous spirit," she stated. "I felt an enormous sense of responsibility. She really was such a beautiful character to play."

We already know Robbie will bring Tate honor with her portrayal, and can't wait to see Tarantino's next masterpiece, when Sony's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood hits theaters on July 26, 2019.
