Enjoy the Ultimate Throwback and Watch Mark Hamill's Audition Tape for Luke Skywalker in 'Star Wars'

Fans of the Star Wars franchise all agree that Mark Hamill was the perfect actor to play Luke Skywalker. To this day, the legendary star loves reliving his days in a galaxy far, far away. For instance, he has revealed his favorite scene from The Last Jedi, his thoughts on his final appearance as Luke in The Rise of Skywalker, as well as giving hilarious explanations for old set photos. If you love reminiscing on the early days of Star Wars, then you'll love watching Hamill's audition tape for the role of his career.

The footage is almost comical in how old school it looks, showing Hamill and Han Solo actor Harrison Ford adjusting their seating positions before diving into some dialogue. You can watch the video below.

As the audition tape proves, Hamill was born to play Luke. He is just as sincere, hopeful, and compelling as the young Jedi. I'm not sure the dialogue the actors read actually ended up in A New Hope, but their discussion of the Death Star is in line with what happens in the movie.
