Mark Hamill is Dropping Hints Harry Styles Plays a Stormtrooper in 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'
Attention all Twitter users: if you didn’t know it by now, Mark Hamill can sometimes be a bit of a blabbermouth when it comes to spoilers. I guess the Force is not strong with Luke Skywalker as far as keeping trade secrets, but Star Wars fans adore him regardless.
In his defense, the tidbit of information he “teased” this week has nothing to do with the plot of the latest film, so I guess we will forgive him (again).
The 68-year-old Lucasfilm veteran took to Twitter ahead of the of the Rise of Skywalker premiere to hint that a big star would make a cameo as a secret Stormtrooper…and by hint, I mean pretty much tell us. Hamill posted pictures of Prince William and Prince Harry, Daniel Craig, and Tom Hardy in their Stormtrooper garb from cameos they made in prior films, along with a photo of Harry Styles.
“Tonight #TheRiseOfSkywalker Premiere finally brings closure to my dysfunctional family!,” he wrote. “Wonder who'll be the #SecretStormtrooper in this one? Considering they've all been UK Superstars (2 Royals+2 Actors) but still no singer, all the clues point in one direction: #Stylestrooper.”
Subtle. Very subtle.
But, in all of his adorable, if not chatty, excitement, the Child’s Play voice actor did take time out to ask fans not to spoil the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. He tweeted:
“The 1st public screening of #TheRiseOfSkywalker takes place tonight in Los Angeles. I know I can't stop you from writing about it on social media, but I CAN beg you to please, Please, PLEASE avoid any SPOILERS!!! Thanking you all in advance...#MayTheShushBeWithYou.”
I mean, who can really stay mad at Luke Skywalker, especially when we are all so nostalgic about the end of an era? Harry, we know you're under a mask somewhere!
