Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is five months away, and fans are already beginning to compile as much information as they can on the film, even making some bold predictions about its plot. Recently, Mark Hamill stoked the fires of speculation when he revealed three words that apparently hint at what's to come in The Rise of Skywalker.

On Sunday, Hamill tweeted those three words in response to a fan request, saying: “My final episode.” While this doesn’t exactly give the substantive, spoiler-filled insight that many fans are clamoring for, it does speak to the direction of the franchise in the future, and could give pointers to the plot.

Hamill’s assertion resounds with an interview with Daisy Ridley, who said that subsequent Star Wars trilogies, one of which will be helmed by Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff and the other by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, will focus on different characters. The Rise of Skywalker, then, will mark the end of the “Skywalker Saga” that began with the original film in 1977.

As for The Rise of Skywalker, Hamill’s words suggest something that fans have expected since the first trailer for the film appeared, and that Hamill has confirmed before--that Luke Skywalker will appear as a Force Ghost. Though this role will likely not be extremely substantive, it may offer the opportunity for closure following the departure of the original stars.

Though Hamill's hint only gives us the briefest of impressions at The Rise of Skywalker, we’ll be keeping our eyes on any additional info--and we’ll be watching the film when it hits theaters on Dec. 20.
