Mark Hamill Had a Secret Cameo in 'The Mandalorian' We All Missed
Mark Hamill is once again proving himself to be the ultimate Star Wars legend. The fan-favorite actor loves giving the fandom access to behind-the-scenes knowledge about the Skywalker Saga, for instance sharing his favorite scene from The Last Jedi, his thoughts on his final appearance as Luke Skywalker in The Rise of Skywalker, and giving hilarious explanations for old set photos. Fans have known the star as the iconic character since A New Hope premiered in 1977, but apparently he voiced another character in The Mandalorian, the first-ever live action Star Wars show.
As reported by Deadline, Hamill made a secret cameo in the fifth episode of the first season. The final episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, a series which unveils the secrets of how the Disney+ show is made, has revealed that Hamill voiced a droid bartender in the very same cantina on Tatooine that was featured in the premiere Star Wars film.
You can check out a side-by-side comparison of Tatooine from A New Hope versus in The Mandalorian below. The droid who Hamill voices appears serving Din Djarin on the right side of the screen at around the 40-second mark.
According to series creator Jon Favreau, the droid's name is EV-9D9, and the bot was previously seen torturing other droids in Return of the Jedi. I guess in a galaxy far, far away, you never know who you'll run into!
