Mark Hamill Shares Sweet Post to Honor George Lucas Ahead of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters tomorrow, and along with immense excitement for the last installment of the Skywalker Saga, there is also a tinge of sadness. The 42-year-old tale has been a part of so many people’s lives for generations, but none more than Luke Skywalker star, Mark Hamill.
Hamill was 24 years old when he first joined the cast of Star Wars, and this week, the 68-year-old veteran of the franchise took some time to show his gratitude to the man that started it all: George Lucas. Hamill, who is set to make an appearance in the forthcoming film, posted three pictures of him and Lucas throughout the years.
“As #TheRiseOfSykwalker arrives in theaters, let's not forget that it all started in the imagination of just 1 man: GEORGE LUCAS,” Hamill writes. “He alone created that galaxy far, far away that has inspired generations. Then, he let me be a part of it & changed my life forever...#ALifetimeOfLuke.”
Many fans commented on the post, expressing their gratitude to both Lucas and Hamill for a lifetime of magic. One wrote, “Much respect to Mr. Lucas and everything he’s done for this franchise! I’m going to be that 33 year old grown man crying at the local Fan Event tomorrow!!! Thanks both of you for this amazing journey!!”
Check out The Rise of Skywalker, out tomorrow...and don't forget to bring your tissues.
