Marvel Studios Likely Won't Have a Panel at Comic-Con @ Home
Sorry, comic book fans, but it looks like Marvel Studios is sitting out of Comic-Con 2020.
As the media world navigates the new "normal," many film, television, and music companies are figuring out how to bring art into fans' homes in a safe way. Unfortunately, though this year's San Diego Comic-Con will be held virtually, Marvel Studios is still reportedly opting out. Deadline was the first to report the news. "We hear Marvel is sitting on the sidelines, and that Warner Bros.’ feature side of DC will hold their goods for their own virtual fan confab in August," the site reported in early July.
Many fans have expressed their disappointment on Twitter.
While having Comic-Con without the MCU might sound like a letdown, there's still a lot to be excited about when it comes to this year's virtual event. For one, it's free of charge! Plus, there's a ton of impressive talent joining the roster (as always). Those who tune in can expect appearances and panels from Joss Whedon, John Slattery, Seth MacFarlane, Mila Kunis, Maya Rudolph, and more, Radio Times confirms.
Get ready, because Comic-Con's 2020 virtual event kicks off on July 22!
