Miley Cyrus proudly throws it back to infamous 'bong' video '11 years' ago

Miley Cyrus - who recently went topless for a shoot - knows how to keep her 153 million Instagram followers entertained! The 29-year-old singer and former Disney star took to her social media page late on Sunday to share a cheeky throwback to the infamous video that once threatened to end her career, from "11 years ago" - which showed the then 18-year-old Hannah Montana star, hitting the bong - in an act to reclaim the moment.

While at the time the bong video was considered to be a pretty big deal, with its release prompting several of Miley Cyrus' endorsers to end their contracts with the teenage star, eleven years on, the Wrecking Ball singer sees the whole incident as a joke and made it evident with her caption.

She wrote on Instagram: "11 years ago. ? Can we petition for a national holiday?" - and shared a still from the video.

Unsurprisingly, now with an older audience (and ... shall we say more mature?) the post went down a treat, with the throwback gaining over 2 million likes and thousands of comments too. "A moment in American history," a user joked in the comments, a second adding, "Iconic Queen vibez." While a third just simply called Miley a "LEGEND".
