NBC Might Make Streaming Service Peacock Free, Meaning You Won't Have to Pay to Watch 'The Office'
By Rachel Reed

The Michael Scott School of Business would be so proud.
CNBC reports that NBCUniversal might be making an ad-supported version of its upcoming Peacock streaming service for both cable and non-cable subscribers. The upside? It'd be free for everyone, making it the first free streaming on-demand video service from a major U.S. media provider. There reportedly would still be an ad-free version, but this would be accompanied by a charge.
NBCUniversal announced Peacock would roll out with over 15,000 hours of content. Of those, more than 3,000 hours will be Telemundo-produced original programming.

Nothing's official just yet, but of course this idea has TV watchers super excited, especially fans of the beloved series The Office. While there's no confirmation on any legitimate reboot plans for the show, this free-for-all version of Peacock is definitely an ace up NBCUniversal's sleeve. With the streaming wars still heating up and The Office leaving Netflix sooner than we're emotionally prepared for, being able to watch it for free someday soon is the spoonful of sugar we've needed. The fan-favorite series is due to debut on Peacock in 2021.
