Nicki Minaj Defends Criminal Boyfriend After Making Their Relationship Instagram Official

Nicki Minaj celebrated her 36th birthday last weekend, and it seems as she's turned another year older, she cares even less than usual about haters' opinions. And that’s saying a lot for the hard-headed rapper from Queens.

Minaj took to Instagram hours after news of her new relationship with Kenneth Petty made headlines. The rapper went on a posting rant, featuring pictures and videos with her new bae, including a photo which shows the two in bed as Minaj is nearly naked.

The rapper knew she would get a lot of hate once the relationship went public, as her new boyfriend has a bit of a rap sheet.

Petty was convicted of an attempted rape in the first degree for an incident that occurred in 1994. Petty, now 40 years old, remains a registered sex offender in the state of New York.

“He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship,” Minaj replied to a fan who stuck up for Petty on Instagram. “But go awf, Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”

Petty was also convicted of manslaughter for an incident that took place in 2002, according to The Blast. He served seven years in prison for the charge.

Though Nicki stayed relatively quiet on Twitter on the subject, she didn’t hold back from liking and retweeting posts that were sticking up for her.

It seems like some Minaj fans will always have her back.
