Star Wars fans already know that Episode IX will bring the Skywalker Saga to an end. The series has lasted for more than 40 years and has brought us eight, soon to be nine, blockbuster films. While we get ready to say goodbye to the Skywalker plot, fans can't help but want to keep a hold on the beloved characters.

Oscar Isaac has our backs though, as he's here to reassure us that the conclusion of the series will be "fulfilling."

“It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga,” Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the franchise, stated on the Today Show. “Nine stories. This is the culmination of the entire thing. What [director] JJ [Abrams] has done, and the entire Lucasfilm team, is incredibly fulfilling. It’s also special for us because you get to learn a lot more things about these characters.”

With the releases of Rogue One and Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm has been gently easing in spinoffs that will eventually take over after the saga is finished. Fans have been introduced into a new galaxy of sorts, one that has about a million possible story ideas.

So while we can't expect future movies about the original legacy players and new characters Kylo Ren and Rey, we could possibly expect to see Poe Dameron in a possible spinoff.

Let's just see where the galaxy takes us when Episode IX hits theaters on Dec. 20, 2019.
