Possible 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Cast List Includes Two Surprising Characters

With the wait for the next season of Game of Thrones the longest fans have ever had to endure, it’s honestly expected that some of the most devoted would be digging up any information possible in the most clever of ways. When the runtimes for Season 8 were reportedly leaked last month, it was after fans were actually able to find existing URLs on HBO’s website, for episodes not yet made available on their schedule yet. Dedication to this show goes a long way.

This method has apparently been used again to find out details about the Season 8 premiere episode, including the cast list. Many alerted fansite Watchers on the Wall of their findings, who published all the info.

Apart from the expected stars on the cast list, beginning with Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, and Kit Harington, many found a couple of surprising additions at the bottom. The two last actors listed are Tobias Menzies, who plays Edmure Tully, and Lino Facioli, who plays Robin Arryn. While it wouldn’t be completely shocking to see the two again in the final season, fans scratching their heads as to why they’re in the premiere episode. What would be the significance?

By the end of Season 7, neither characters were really around anymore, and likely both presumed dead by some fans. Edmure was apparently left in Walder Frey’s dungeon, and Robin hadn’t been seen since Season 6. If they weren’t mentioned ever again, I don’t think fans would be too mad.

The inclusion of these two characters in the Season 8 premiere episode will now no doubt fuel many more fan theories, although some fans have made it clear on social media they think the men might just be randomly thrown into the episode without a particularly good reason.

We have less than two months now until the final season of Game of Thrones premieres to know for sure.
