Questions to Ask a Guy to Get to Know Him Better
By Natalie Zamora
When you're first talking to someone, you often ask them many questions in the beginning to get a sense of who they are. Although getting to know someone naturally happens the more time you spend with them, asking the initial questions can be beneficial. When talking to a guy, there are definitely a bunch of things you can ask to get a feel of their character.
Here are eight questions to get to know a man better.
1. How old are you?
For starters, if you don't know how old the person is, that could be a good start. If anything, it'll just open up a conversation. Plus, you'll know at least one thing about him.
2. What are your hobbies?
Another easy one is to ask what he likes to do. I'm sure this will open up a ton of date or hangout ideas, especially if you two have hobbies in common. But even if you don't have the same hobbies, this gives you the chance to learn things about one another and about different activities.
3. What are your ambitions?
This might be a harder question to answer, but it'll definitely give you insight into the man you're talking to. Even if you don't necessarily understand his dreams and goals, I'm sure it'll be an awesome conversation learning what he's all about.
4. What are you attracted to in a significant other?
If you're not at all remotely interested in this man and only want to get to know him as a friend, you might skip this question. But if you're attracted to him and maybe want to date, you could ask what he likes in someone romantically. It'll give you a better idea as to whether or not you're compatible.
5. Where's your dream vacation?
This is definitely a fun one. It's always fun to fantasize about what awesome vacations and trips are out there in the world, so asking a guy this would be a cool way to figure out what he likes and dislikes. You'll find out if he prefers cities or towns, water or dryland, etc.
6. What is your favorite animal?
A question like this might stem an argument, but it's worth getting out of the way in the beginning. Asking about animals is also a cute way to see what each other likes, what you both find adorable, and make an overall lighthearted conversation.
7. Are you close with your family?
This is a good question to ask if you value family as the most important thing in your life. And even if you don't, it's still interesting to see where a guy stands on this so you can get to know a bit on how he was raised, and his relationship with his family now. Who knows, you might be meeting them in the future!
8. What music do you listen to?
And lastly, asking about music is always a fun one. Right off the bat, it's great to ask about his taste, so you can compare favorite artists and songs. If you and this guy love the same music, you can talk about it for hours. And if you like different genres, then you both can show each other music and discuss your reactions.
