We are almost nine months into 2019, and while Rihanna promised us a new album this year, fans have started to be a tad concerned that it might not happen. So much so, that RiRi herself made fun of our anxiety on social media.

But recently, those anxieties started to dissolve just a little bit.

A fan account for Rihanna posted on Twitter last week that a new song, titled “Private Loving,” was registered to Robyn R Fenty (our Queen’s real name) on Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI). Refinery29 reports that BMI is a company that collects musicians’ license fees and distributes royalties. While BMI’s website doesn’t list a specific registration date, there is no mistaking that Rihanna is a part of it.

In addition to RiRi, British singer Monique Lawz and Jamaican dancehall producer Demarco are listed as co-writers. The style of these artists would coincide with the reports that Rihanna’s new project will focus on her Caribbean roots.

Rihanna hasn’t publicly addressed the tweet or the possible new single. As we all know, she's been busy with her Fenty Beauty brand, as well as her new Fenty luxury fashion line. She also reportedly might be in the middle of a move to Paris.

Whether or not the details are true, those of us in RiRi’s Navy are the most hopeful than we have been in months.
