Vanessa Morgan has a trajectory she wants her character on Riverdale, Toni Topaz, to follow next season--and she's looking to make things edgier than ever before.

After being introduced to Toni in season two, we have followed her journey on the show with the serpants, at Riverdale High, and in her relationship with Cheryl Blossom. Now things could be changing.

At a TRESemme event at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this past weekend, Morgan said audience members should expect some changes to Toni's hairstyle. Could a change in locks signify a larger change in her character too? We've always known Toni with long, dark, pink dip-dyed hair, but we're sure Vanessa Morgan could make anything work.

When asked how her character's hair color may change along with her character, the actress replied to Refinery29, "I'm actually asking the team if we can incorporate purple into Toni's hair. I want to keep the pink, but enhance it with shades of violet around the frame of my face. I wouldn’t say her changes are totally synonymous with her evolution, but this season she's definitely changing. She would probably be open to something more trendy, like safety pins or beads in her hair."

She also went on to add that, "Next season, I really want to go back to her being a bit edgier, because I think people really liked that, and it's super-fun. I'm debating chopping her hair next season. I really want to go shoulder-length short. Obviously, Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] has the final say, but I think it could be really cool."
