With Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor winding down, fans are already looking ahead at who will be the next Bachelorette. Even franchise alums are throwing in their bets and offering suggestions. Season 23 Bachelor Colton Underwood suggested that producers pick Tia Booth. Nick Viall, who was the Season 21 Bachelor, called for Demi Burnett to take on the exciting new role. There was even talk of having Hannah Brown back for a second shot as the Bachelorette.

Most recently, rumors broke out that another Bachelor alum is being checked out for the role of Bachelorette: Clare Crawley. Fans will remember Clare from Juan Pablo's season of The Bachelor, then enjoying the spotlight on The Bachelor Winter Games and Bachelor in Paradise. While we're not sure exactly where the idea came about that Clare could be the next leading lady, Reality Steve is all over it. The TV guru weighed in on all the chatter, explaining on Twitter that he doesn't know how the reports began, and although he admitted it would surprise him if true, he came up with reasons as to why it would make sense. "But 1) that gives them major shock value 2) gives them some1 older and 3) it kinda puts her as a combination of being the female Arie & Nick," he tweeted.

Though there's nothing confirmed about this new rumor, fans will likely notice a trend here—people are not really mining the current ladies from Peter's season. Part of the issue here is that the pilot's season has been so packed with drama that many viewers have expressed a distaste at the idea of one of the most recent contestants taking over the role as Bachelorette. Also, most of the ladies are very young, and some are speculating the pettiness comes from their lack of life experience.

The one exception to this is talk that Kelsey Weier is potentially being courted for the coveted role. While she said at the Women Tell All taping that she wasn't expecting the part and hasn't been spoken to producers about the idea, she could be the one candidate from Peter's season who is an actual possibility.

Could Clare Crawley be the next Bachelorette? She is in her late 30s, which could prove to be a solution to the catty feuds that has plagued The Bachelor this season. We'll find out soon enough!
