Multiple Rumored 'Bachelorette' Contestants for Season 16 Have Kids, Says Reality Steve

There had been an absolute whirlwind of rumors about who ABC would choose as its Season 16 Bachelorette. On Good Morning America, it was finally revealed that Clare Crawley will in fact be our next leading lady, but this only leaves us with more questions and theories. At the nexus of all this speculation is TV guru Reality Steve, who shared some details this past weekend about the upcoming Bachelorette contestants.

“As of right now, of the guys that I have, 4 of them have kids,” he wrote on Twitter. “And they are definitely going to be doing some late casting of more older guys this week after Monday’s announcement.”

According to Steve, all these dads and "older guys" are being hand-selected as potential matches for Clare. The hairdresser will turn 39 in March, a contrast to the other potential candidates, Tayshia Adams, Kelsey Weier, and Tia Booth, who are all in their 20s.

“They’ve already told a couple of the 25 year olds they’re no longer cast bc of the age difference,” Reality Steve noted about the potential contestants this season.

Whispers of Clare’s candidacy for leading lady started circulating only a few days before the official Bachelorette announcement on GMA. At the time, even Reality Steve said he would be surprised if she ended up being picked. Clare has been part of Bachelor Nation since 2014, when she was a finalist on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor. She went on to Bachelor in Paradise Seasons 1 and 2, and then to Winter Games in 2018.
