Ben Affleck officially exited the role of Batman this past February, even explaining during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he "couldn't crack" the role of the Dark Knight. His departure from the films, and the passing of the directing baton to Matt Reeves, has raised one significant question in the minds of fans--who will take on the crucial DC Comics role?
The announcement may be coming sooner than anyone thought. ComicBook.com reports that rumor has it, according to Twitter "scooper" Daniel Richtman, that we may be getting the announcement of Batman's casting as early as this week.
The Batman casting is upon us, maybe even this week.

Affleck has also said of the film, titled The Batman, which is slated to release in June 2021, that it has, "a great director. They’re doing a kind of, I don’t want to give away anything... but they’re doing a young version, a more starting-out version with a younger guy."
For a while, rumors were flying that Armie Hammer of Call Me by Your Name fame would be taking on the role, but the actor denied any involvement with the project. On The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, however, Hammer responded to the speculation by saying that while he hadn't been cast, he would take up the opportunity if it was offered to him. “Who wouldn’t want to be Batman? I think every guy in this audience would want to be Batman if they could. It’s a good gig," he stated.
We're sure the character's legacy is in good hands with Reeves, and can't wait for casting for the film to be announced.
