Ruth Jones Hints at More Exciting News 'Gavin and Stacey' Fans Want to Hear
The BBC fan-favorite series Gavin and Stacey officially went off the air in 2010, but that hasn't stopped fan demand for the comedy to make a comeback. And this year, audiences will finally be blessed with a return of sorts, as a Christmas special will be premiering just in time for the holiday season.
But what's next for the beloved show? Ruth Jones, who both co-wrote Gavin and Stacey and played the part of Nessa, recently did an interview with Red Magazine, where she teased what the future could bring. According to Metro, she recalled, "Ever since it finished in 2010, we’ve always said 'Do you think we’ll do another one?'" She added, "Sometimes we would just text each other and go, 'I have a really good idea for Bryn.'"
Although she couldn't announce any concrete plans, Ruth was sure to be clear that revisiting Gavin and Stacey again is entirely possible. "I think it would be churlish of me to say there won’t be any more. The honest truth is there are no plans, but I don’t think I could ever say never."
We'll take that as some hope! Co-writer and Smithy actor James Corden just took to Twitter to share the trailer for the upcoming Christmas special, exciting diehard and casual fans of the show alike.
Tune in for the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special this Dec. 25.
