Ryan Edwards and Family Open Up About His Traumatic Jail Experience in 'Teen Mom OG' Teaser

Teen Mom OG has returned for its ninth season this week, and the drama has not disappointed so far. In the premiere episode, we saw the consequences Ryan Edwards' family had to face after he was arrested and spent time in jail, with his ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout angry over the fact that she had to tell their son, Bentley.

Now, a new sneak peek for the season, as reported by OK! Magazine, shows Ryan speaking with his mom Jen, and wife, Mackenzie, about his experience in jail. Although Ryan seems very tight-lipped on the whole ordeal, the ladies in his life are ready to come forth with the details for the camera.

"He's having a rough time," Jen says, and Mackenzie adds, "He won't leave the house." The clip reportedly cuts to Ryan laying down on the couch, visibly upset. His mom explains how much jail took a toll on him, as he was behind bars from January to April 2019.

"He saw one person get beat up bad...I mean there was blood everywhere," Jen reveals, to which Mackenzie says, "They [smashed] his skull...It's sad to watch somebody go through all of that." The ladies start getting emotional as they reflect on what Ryan had just gone through, according to the publication.

The father-of-two was arrested and charged with theft of services for reportedly skipping out on a bar tab, as well as a charge of possession. He was then released from jail this April after about three months. Other than his son with Maci, the 31-year-old shares son Jagger with Mackenzie, who was born in Oct. 2018 while Ryan was in rehab.
