Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' Las Vegas Wedding Apparently Wasn't a Last-Minute Decision
By Olivia Montine
While it would be adorable if Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's post-BBMAs wedding was entirely spontaneous, it was reportedly planned a little bit more in advance than fans may think.
The couple wed in Las Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards this past Wednesday, with an Elvis impersonator officiating the ceremony. Jesse Grice, the aforementioned impersonator, told TMZ that he was told a wedding was happening a week ago--but he was not told who the ceremony would be for.
The Little White Wedding Chapel was reserved for the couple from 8 PM to midnight on May 1st. The pair's previously-promised wedding in France will still be taking place, but strict French residency and marriage laws meant that the couple needed a wedding in the States as well to make it official.
Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones, put a spin on a classic, sporting a white Bevza jumpsuit with a traditional veil, and Jonas looked dapper in a grey suit. Brothers of the groom Nick and Kevin, both of whom are already married, stood by Joe's side in tan suits just hours after the group performed together at the awards show.
The ceremony was captured and live-streamed via Instagram by Diplo, which gave fans a close-up view of the action.
We wish the newlyweds the best, and look forward to seeing their French celebration as well!
