Spider-Man 2099 Live-Action Series Rumored to Be Coming to Disney+
Good news for comic book fans who love Spider-Man! A live-action series based on the Spider-Man 2099 character, who was first introduced for the Marvel 2099 comics, could possibly be hitting your TV screens. While the news is technically just a rumor, known leaker Mikey Sutton promises fans there's something big coming from the New York City superhero.
MovieWeb shared the intel from Sutton, who said in a Facebook post:
"Spider-Man is coming to television. It just won't be Peter Parker. I received a phone call earlier this evening letting me know that a Spider-Man 2099 live-action show has been discussed for Disney+. In other words, this'll be a Sony-Marvel Studios collaboration if it is greenlit with [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige manning the controls."
While there's not a ton of details just yet, Sutton added that he will keep fans posted, adding, "I know quite little of this property, and while I usually try to dig deeper before releasing a story such as this, this source has been accurate in the past. I will continue to ask around and keep you all updated."
For Marvel fans who need a refresher, Spider-Man 2099 was introduced in 1992 for a futuristic comic series which saw geneticist Miguel O'Hara take the post of Spider-Man.
Though there's no confirmation this live-action series is actually happening, now we can't stop theorizing who could play the awesome reimagining of the character. In the meantime, catch up on all the MCU content with a subscription to Disney+ here.
