'Star Wars' Fans Are Obsessing Over BTS Photo of George Lucas and Baby Yoda

Papa Lucas and Baby Yoda have been united, and Star Wars fans’ hearts are basically exploding.

People reports that the fandom lost their minds this week after The Mandalorian creator, Jon Favreau, shared a precious behind-the-scenes moment when Star Wars mastermind George Lucas cuddled the tiny creature in his arms.

Of course, followers of The Lion King director couldn’t help but comment. One user wrote, “Mr Favreau you're breaking the internet again sir,” and another posted, “Balance in the Force.” One fan acted like the wee one himself, writing, “Gwandpa George?”

One fan even heeded Favreau’s request to not call The Child by his beloved nickname, writing, “I love this with my whole heart. Thank you Jon and George for making so many of us so happy with the character called 'The Child' (aka Baby You Know Who).”

Favreau, along with Season 1 finale director Taika Waititi, have been adamant in correcting fans who refer to the breakout character as Baby Yoda. The tiny sidekick to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) apparently has his own name, and it is definitely not “Yoda.”

Season 2 of the Disney+ series is set to air this fall, and with Lucas clearly present at the filming of the next installment, fans can only wonder if we will finally learn more about Yoda’s species and/or home planet through the story arc of The Child.
