'Star Wars: The Mandalorian' is Finally Coming to the UK as Disney+ Debuts
By Rachel Reed
From a galaxy far, far away, The Mandalorian will be landing across the pond.
Here's some great news for Star Wars fans in Europe, as reported by Deadline. Pretty soon, UK fans will be able to admire Baby Yoda from somewhere other than the online memes. On March 24, Disney+ is scheduled to go live in the UK. Disney has also confirmed that the first two episodes of The Mandalorian will be available on March 26, and the third is expected to go live on March 27.
The super popular Star Wars spin-off wrapped filming on its second season earlier this month. The series is scheduled to make its highly-anticipated return, state-side, sometime in Oct. 2020. And week by week, European viewers will be able to catch up on all they'e missed. There is, however, a slight catch. With more and more people staying at home, broadband strain is approaching its peak. According Kevin Mayer, head of the direct-to-consumer division at Disney, they will lower overall bandwidth utilization by 25 percent when launching Disney+ in the UK, as The Verge reports. So how will this affect The Mandalorian's European debut and audience reception? Stay tuned. But UK Star Wars fans have been waiting for this one for quite some time, so we get the feeling nothing is going to slow them down or stand in the way of a Disney+ binge session!
