It became pretty apparent on April 20 that whoever was firing off tweets from Joe Keery's Twitter account was not Joe himself. The Stranger Things star had his account hacked, fans instantly realized, and they were not happy with the perpetrator.

While Joe's account has since been suspended, according to Digital Spy, his page began posting a slew of offensive, racist messages early this morning. Keery's followers did not take the hate messages lightly, and responded to the hacker with messages of their own. "Can we say desperate for attention," one person wrote, while another tweeted, "Imagine needing this much attention."

One fan cleared up any confusion for people who may have thought the messages actually came from the actor himself. "Explain to me why some people think joe keery, the man who never uses twitter would go on at 4AM and casually tweet the n word... r yall alright??" the tweet read.

People were very displeased with the anonymous hacker. "I hope everyone has an amazing day except for the people who hacked joe keery’s twitter account," another wrote.

Here's to hoping Joe's account gets back up and running stat seeing as fans are relying on the cast for updates on Stranger Things. Filming of the show was suspended because of safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, but thankfully, they'll commence filming in due time.
