'Stranger Things' Theory Asks if the Demogorgon is Actually the Hero
By Kwadar Ray
We're just about four months away from Stranger Things' third season. As we continue to wait for its release on Netflix, there are plenty of theories out there regarding what we may see in highly-anticipated season.
One of the many theories includes one regarding the Demogorgon. As any fan knows, the mysterious monster from the Upside Down is the main villain in the series. Even with the additions of diabolical characters like Billy Hargrove, the Demogorgon is still the biggest threat to our teenage heroes and the rest of Hawkins' residents.
However, what if the Demogorgon isn't as evil as we believe? One theory suggests the predatory creature is actually the hero in the sci-fi series.
The monster is viewed as inherently violent, but, a theory from Complex asks, "What if the Demogorgon is really trying to save the town from becoming the wasteland that the Upside Down became?"
The theory cites a Season 2 scene in which a pumpkin patch gets completely destroyed. We obviously assume the demon caused it, but what if the destruction of the pumpkins actually triggered its return and forced it to attempt to save Hawkins?
It would surely be a major plot twist in the series, but the showrunners haven't shied away from shocking moments in the show's two seasons of existence.
Stranger Things Season 3 premieres on July 4.
