If you were wondering how Disney+ was going to compete against established streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO, among others, the answer (so far) is that it's going as well as the company always does: they're crushing it.

Forbes reports that Disney+, which includes a library of films and TV series for Disney, Marvel and Pixar, is gaining popularity every day, especially with the success of Star Wars: The Mandalorian already spreading like wildfire. According to the publication, the series is clearly pulling into first place against similar shows like Netflix’s Stranger Things and HBO’s Westworld. In fact, after seven days out from its season one launch, according to Parrot Analytics, demand for The Mandalorian beat the two shows by 69.8% and 175%, respectively.

And how is the first Star Wars series faring against shows on regular television? It turns out the same study determined that it is 72.3% ahead of BBC’s Doctor Who and 298% ahead of CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery.

Not only do the ratings show the demand for the new Pedro Pescal-led series, but also the buzz on social media. With only three episodes out, fans are going bananas for the character of “The Child,” who followers of the show lovingly call “Baby Yoda,” creating memes, GIFs, and demanding merchandise ASAP.

Though the streaming service had a rocky start, it seems that the sky is the limit for Disney.
