Fans are one step closer to seeing Natalie Portman take on Thor’s hammer.

Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the most anticipated movies of Marvel Studios' upcoming Phase 4 films. Taika Waititi will be helming the project, and is apparently having no problem getting started.

Deadline reported this week that the returning Thor: Ragnarok director has already completed the script for the upcoming film.

The film stirred major excitement among fans when Marvel announced it at San Diego Comic-con last month. The movie will follow the former Thor’s (played by Chris Hemsworth) ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster (Portman).

Though plot points have yet to be released, fans have been speculating the story in fan art, inspired by Hemsworth’s rendition of the character and perhaps riffing off any lingering heartbreak between the two characters.

What we do know is that The film is inspired by Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman’s Mighty Thor, a comic  Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige called “one of the best comic runs recently,” Comicbook.com reports.

Asked by i09 whether Valkyrie will have a specifically LGBTQ storyline in the forthcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, Feige said: “The answer is yes. How that impacts the story remains to be seen with that level of representation you’ll see across our films, not in just Thor 4.” It came after Feige's announcement that the fourth Thor movie will be called Thor: Love and Thunder, and will see the return of Natalie Portman's Dr Jane Foster. “As new king, she needs to find her queen,” Thompson told the crowd in Hall H, referring to Thor's passing of the mantle of ruler of Asgard to Valkyrie at the end of Avengers: Endgame. “That will be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted.” Foster will become the Mighty Thor, in a storyline from the Marvel comic books first published in 2014, in which Thor loses his powers. Takai Waititi, who will be back in the directors chair for Love and Thunder, shot a scene for Thor: Ragnarok which would have confirmed Valkyrie's sexual orientation, but it never made it to the final movie. The fourth Thor movie will arrive on November 5, 2021. ?: @gettyentertainment #Thor4 #ThorLoveAndThunder
